About Sourcemined

Sourcemined is an independent reference for video games, built from the game files themselves. We publish exact data and tools: drop chances, damage formulas, breeding odds, crafting trees, patch-by-patch changes, and maps placed from the files.

How the data is made

1. We buy each game and read the data it ships with using our own importers.
2. We normalise it into one format, check it automatically (references, ranges, impossible values), and test the formulas against hand-worked examples and known in-game results.
3. When a game patches, we re-extract it, re-run every test, and publish what changed, number by number.

Exact, from the source

Numbers come from the files each game ships with, read by our own importers, not copied from other sites or typed in by hand.

Shown with its evidence

Every page shows the game build it came from. Rules we reconstruct are tagged verified, community or inferred.

Computed, not padded

Pages exist to answer something exactly: a calculator, a drop chance, a full stat table. No filler text and no AI-written guides.

Free, with nothing locked

No accounts, no paid tier. Tools run in your browser, and your saves never leave it.

Fixed in public

When we get something wrong, we fix it and log it on the corrections page.

How it's funded

Sourcemined is funded by reader donations. We may add clearly labelled ads later; they would never sit inside a tool, and nothing will ever be paywalled. No developer or publisher pays for coverage.

Independence

We are not affiliated with any developer or publisher. We cover games because players want exact answers about them, not because anyone asked us to.
